September: Camping

Straight after moving into the caravan it was time for our annual Home Ed camp and this year it couldn't have been wetter. After over a week of sleeping on blow up mattress already the smalls, Thea and I gave up and went back to the caravan beds the first night but surrounded by friends Orion stayed the course and we were back each morning.

This year seemed to be the camp of clay for Gabe and he spent hours making things.

The teens played large amounts of giant chess.

These two cemented their friendship.

And as always, the best part of all... night fires with marshmallows for the kids and a bottle of wine for the adults.

I love the way they sleep.

We emptied the whole tent around her without her so much as fluttering an eyelid...

July: Performances, Trips & The End of Another Year

The second half of July was packed full of rehearsals, shows and adventures, starting with the epic production that is Broadway Showtunes with Thea's Big Little drama company at the Pavilion in Bournemouth.

Gabe went off for a couple of days with friends to a festival called Dantastic and had an amazing time.

Orion and Lynx both performed in the Influence show by their dance company, and it was truly breathtaking.

The small two and I went for an adventure to the Oceanarium in Bournemouth to do an attraction review for the children's website I write for called Kidspeak.

Gabe and I could have sat in that tunnel all day.

How difficult madam can be to take a photo of!

A very sad and very moving day on Gabe's last every day at forest school. He's been going there for 5 years and it's been the centre of his world. There were so many tears and acknowledgement of an era passing for him and for our family as the big two went before him.

He is known for his sewing so the staff made him this as a keepsake.

The biggest and littlest being cute making potions in the garden.

Orion off to perform in a dance competition which they won.

And no summer would be right without some strawberry picking at our local PYO farm.

She was so proud of her handwriting for Gabe's birthday card envelope.

For his birthday, his best friends all gathered in a friends garden for a mini camp festival in honour of Gabe.

Food, fire and marshmallows, sparklers, cake, giggles and lots of special memories made.

And a visit from Grandma Julie to end the month before the birthday celebrations could begin in earnest.
