We disappeared again for a few days last week, this time the games room was located in Stratford-upon-Avon!
Our first day was largely devoted to exploring the town which none of us had been to before, and visiting the MAD museum... Mechanical Art & Design

It is a brilliant museum, one which we'd all love to go back to as soon as I can arrange a workshop!
It is filled with automata and fun things to watch, push buttons on and figure out how on earth they came up with it all. This marble run reminded Orion and I of the Pompidou Centre in Paris and it's outside escalators.
The dancing skeleton Dia de los Muertos characters, and evil gremlins reworking the Shakespeare portrait were big favourite also.
This typewriter was fascinating and so much fun to play with...
Each key connected to a string...
connected to tiny metal spoons to tap glass containers all filled with different amounts of water!
Tom did not agree that this little guy looked weirdly like him.
You can't actually see what they're looking at here, but there is a pair of giant hands above their heads which claps when they do... Gabe kept going back and back and back.
We all now want to own a house to make this giant magnetic marble wall run play space.
They could have stayed on this for hours getting more and more intricate in their designs.
After a long day of travel and play, only a delicious desert would satisfy.
