When Planning Gives Way To Creativity

I like planning.

I like collecting pin after pin of wonderful activities and projects that I'd like us to do on pinterest. I then pick a day and print out whatever I need, get my books ready with pages marked, maybe even a you tube video for a quick demonstration.

But that is me. My children like being creative. Off the cuff type of creative.

Sometimes the two work well together and the house turns into a hive of industry, and I sigh contentedly through it all. Other times, our ideas simply do not mesh, and mine have to wait. It's not easy to do, but I have learnt that to push uphill is all hard work and no fun.

All three playing together, lost in an imaginary world in full fancy dress... more fun.

Rediscovering Hama beads and somehow using them to further their Monster High obsession... more fun.

Writing and illustrating books... more fun.

Because I know that they'll probably lose the books, I thought I'd write out the stories here, the pictures will just have to be imagined.

Thea - The Camel Girl

Once there was a girl, everyone called her camel girl because she had two lumps on her back.

Sometimes she went out on walks and thought about all the people who talked about her.
One night when she was out two gods of the moon and one god of the stars starred at her.

One day a sunbeam was right above the girl and she began to fly up, up, to the sun.

She didn't think eating on the sun was any different but it was, because what she found on her plate was a fiery rock.

When she jumped off the sun she was frozen in a block of ice which was moving up to the mountain.

Two ice ladies began pulling on the lumps on the girls back.

The girl jumped off the mountain and three strikes of lightning scooped her up to a thunder cloud.

A lightening lady tried to zap the girl's lumps off with lightning bolts.

When the girl jumped off the cloud she finally landed on the ground, and she wondered if her two lumps were something special...

... And they were indeed!

Her lumps cracked open and in their place were two fabulous wings.

The girl was so surprised she fainted.

The gods who had bought her up starred at her.

The girl flew up to the sky to show everyone she wasn't a camel girl.

The End.

Orion - The Girl and The Tiger and a Dragon

Once there was a girl who had purple hair, her name was Lucy.

One day at school, Lucy saw a tiger outside the door.

She went outside to see it.

Lucy grew wings and started to glow.

When she stopped glowing, she touched down and had bright pink wings. The tiger told her she needed to make a portal but he wouldn't be going with her through it.

Lucy made the portal and jumped into it.

When Lucy stepped out of the portal she saw a castle with a locked door.

Lucy thought if she had the power to open a portal she may also be able to zap the door so she tried.
When she zapped the door the chains fell away and disappeared, then Lucy entered the castle.

The castle was very dark inside, so Lucy used her magic to make a light.

After climbing the steps Lucy spotted a huge dragon. Lucy knew she would have to fight the dragon.

When Lucy zapped the dragon, the dragon didn't die... it turned into a boy!

The boy told Lucy he was called John, and that an evil witch had put a spell on him.

When Lucy got back to school her lesson was over and the teacher was angry. The teacher said Lucy looked like she'd seen a dragon and got new hair and clothes, but the teacher had no idea what had really happened.

The End.
